This was my first time going to Arizona and I was absolutely infatuated with it. I joined my 'rents for an extended weekend in Scottsdale, which is located about 20 minutes from Phoenix. Arizona is full of fun things to do; from hiking to shopping to spa time, I had such a blast in this sunny state.
My flight didn't land until 10:30 pm 'Zona time (aka, 12:30 am my time) and I was incredibly hungry, so naturally I asked my parents to take me to In-N-Out Burger for a late night feast. Ps, it was seriously as good as all the hype makes it out to be.
Day one was mostly spent lounging by the pool, soaking up as much vitamin C as possible. It was 90 degrees and sunny the entire weekend, and I cherished every minute of it. Also, as much as I wanted to leave this trip with a super deep tan, I actually wore sunscreen every single day- a milestone for me.
We stayed at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. It was an astounding outdoor resort with too many palm trees and tiled roofs to count. The resort included a spa, a handful of restaurants and pools, and amazing views. Still dreaming about it a week and a half later!
College means spring breaking with the units and loving every second of it... especially when they treat you to a five course dinner. My parents took me to their favorite restaurant in downtown Scottsdale called "Café Monarch" and I think I died and went to heaven during each bite.

We took one afternoon and drove to Sedona, which was absolutely stunning. We were surrounded by red rocks and blue skies and there were a lot of quirky little shops everywhere. Definitely a cool place to check out if you're in the area.

Some more things to check out in Scottsdale are "Well & Being Spa" (most relaxing facials ever), La Hacienda restaurant (best guacamole EVER), and Kierland Commons (outdoor shopping center with tons of cute boutiques and dining).
